Lutherwood is pleased to announce the continuation of the Parent/Caregiver FASD Support Group with funding from Health Nexus and the endorsement of the Waterloo Region FASD Action Group.
The goal of the Parent/Caregiver FASD Support Group is to provide a forum for parents and caregivers to support and learn from one another, to share knowledge, and to build skills in order to improve outcomes for children with FASD and their families. Sessions will be co-facilitated by parents/caregivers in order to draw upon their personal experiences and expertise while discussing a wide-range of topics that are relevant to rearing a child with an FASD.
Group facilitators are currently seeking input regarding preferred topics for discussion
Monthly sessions will be offered from September 2020 through March 2021, each lasting 1.5 hours in duration.
Access and familiarity with Zoom video-conferencing software is required as upcoming sessions will be offered virtually to reduce exposure and prevent the spread of COVID-19
Support Group will be limited to 25 participants per session
Please register between August 19th and September 9th by emailing Rob MacDonald at firstname.lastname@example.org
Limited financial subsidies may be available to pay for respite support or meals for families in order to remove barriers to participation
